I have a battle plan for 2012. There will be a number of launches that will feature some new approaches to things. There will be more bigger boxed items put together pretty much the same way as the DRT WARP Bikes. There will be DRT ( deluxe real type) figures, DX (deluxe painted) figures , classic painted, clears and glows. There will be plenty of bikes over the next few months...and other big baddies to take on the likes of the big rig. Matt and I have a bunch of intertwining stories in the works. Expect a bunch of crossovers and CCC3. I am going to try to hustle some Callgrim tees as well...Maybe do some squeegie yanking with Boris.
Prices on things will be dictated by how much I put into each project. I am amazed at how successful I am at finding new and inventive ways of losing money. I try not to make it too painful on the wallet for you guys despite my costly creative self indulgences... or bells and whistles. I sleep easy at night knowing that you can get piles of stuff cheap over with the Beard Lord. Don't worry- I will still sprinkle a few classic style $10 releases in this year.
2011 was a successful year for Callgrim. Successful in that it gimps along at a break even pace- enough for me to continue doing it without getting thrown out of the house... for now. The Holding Cell will be a major feature of the 2012 approach to bringing you new things. Some people will dig what I do here- others will hate it. I will use the Holding Cell to do mini launches, one of a kind customs and other weird shit. There will be little if any notice on what's going on there- so keep checking in. I have to be a mercenary here- Callgrim needs more pals to roll with and steel is not cheap.
2012 will be a doozie... Big launches, little launches- new stuff, old stuff- Holding Cell madness and more- Glow-Bones! Glow-Bones! Glow-Bones!

Happy Holidays! Santa was good to the Moore clan- I hope he was good to you!
I must say that this grand experiment that was the DRT WARP Bike wave went well thanks to everyone that participated. It was a risky one- but I think the risk was worth it! I will definitely be doing more DRT stuff in the future... and boxes. I had a blast doing the boxes. I am so glad that people appreciated the extra bells and whistles... I give deep heartfelt thanks to all of you guys for the support and kind words that help drive me to do this stuff. You guys also have the patience of saints. I know it takes a while for me to get shipping notices out- I know I am a slow poke. Blame stress- OCD and AADD and ODD...
2011 was a very successful year for Callgrim. We tried some new things this year that will sort of set the stage for 2012. There are some cool things in the works that I hope you guys will dig... and some weird twists. The fan support is a huge part of what allows for stuff to get done. I am so grateful that I can continue to do this.
Matt is an amazing friend... the best. He is not only responsible for bringing us Glyos- but he has allowed a clown like me to romp in this world with Callgrim and his pals. 2012 will be a big year for Callgrim... more romping... more pals. Thanks brother!

Happy Thanksgiving! I ate a ton of bird. I have so much to be thankful for. I have a great family- awesome friends- a decent beard- my health and most of my sanity. I painted up some of the three part test shots of the bike in China. The paint there is delicious. I worked closely with the crew over there to make sure they could get the Custom Corps look- They pulled it off. There are many applications, masks and washes all over these things.

The debut of the bikes will bring new things to the table for Callgrim by way of presentation, paint apps and content. I am excited about this launch and proud of what we did here. The fist roll out of this new thing deserves the royal treatment. I want to pay special attention to the two main players here- Callgrim and Riac. Their relationship is complex and their story is important to the future of Callgrim and the role of the Order in the Glyos System.

It's finally here- Callgrim's ride. This thing has been a long time in the making. Callgrim was first shown on his bike in the Gear's Edge comic. That bike was modeled after Rechlen's Crater Hopper from the Rechlen and Aves photo book. The chasis for the WARP Bike is a fusion of elements from both. The front of the bike is WARP technology. Callgrim retro fits the common black core driven hopper style bikes with WARP enhanced battle fixtures and powerful engines. Steal a bit from this- enhance with that and juice the whole thing up with WARP tech. That's how Callgrim rolls.

Matt and I drew a ton of bikes- The final look of the bike is a result of countless revisions to dozens of drawings and designs. Matt's sculpt truly captures the look of a death machine of multiple origins using different kinds of tech. The half blind fuck hit another one out of the park. Thanks brother-

Japan was even more amazing this time around. Don was again the perfect guide and host. After busting ass in China for the better part of a week- it was great to kick back and chill with friends. The Tokiwa Hotel is our home away from home. We had McD's everyday- but the true feast was served up by Tets at the Boo restaurant. Dish after dish of great expertly prepared delicious entrees were devoured all night. Matt and I got to hang with our friends Ayako, Mori, Cord Viper, AAA, Itokin Park and Ai. We had a blast!

The Boo restaurant is attached to Ayako's Uamou store/studio. What a genius set up- Tets Boo themed restaurant on one side and the Uamou store on the other. Ayako is an amazing talent and super smart business lady. She has quite the operation! It is a truly amazing thing to experience- great food to chow and hundreds if not thousands of Uamou and Boo toys and art all over the place to check out! Ayako knows what she's doing.

Matt and I are very excited to be sharing a booth with Ayako at NYCC. She came a long way! Come check out her stuff at booth #578 if you're in town. We'll be kicking around all weekend.

I was let into China again this year despite my visa pic. I trimmed up the beard a bit as to look a little less homicidal. Paul generously hooked us up with palatial accommodations just a hop skip and a jump away from Glyos Central. We were quite a sight where ever we went- bearded giant and bearded dwarf... Treebeard and Gimli...

We spent our days in China working like pigs in the paint factory and our nights eating like pigs all over town. I am not sure if I could identify all of the different animals I ate- there was a lot- all delish. I gained 10 pounds.

It was great seeing the crew again. They do such amazing work on all of our crazy little projects. I was super happy to finally pull the trigger on the next Callgrim project. I am putting these guys through hell a bit- but if anyone can pull it off... these guys can.

I am still a fumble fuck with chopsticks.

Thank you so much to everyone that participated! I am mentally and physically exhausted, excited and relieved. I know these guys will find wonderful new homes. I'll be packing them up and sending them off on their new adventures as soon as I recover. I want to give extra special thanks to Marc and Matt again... as usual, they have been instrumental in the success of all Callgrim related ventures. This one in particular was a doozy. The Callgrim Custom Corps 1 is ready to roll! Thanks everyone for your patience during a very long wait. It took a while for me to get my shit together- but together my shit now is. This thing has evolved and gone through so many changes along the way. I wanted to make sure that the first Callgrim Custom Corps was a good one. I am finally happy with it as a complete body of work. It is finally ready.

I set some challenging parameters for myself along the way... I wanted to stick with builds made strictly with parts from the Callgrim store. l wanted to have all hand painted dudes with a few soft capes, scarves and cloaks mixed in. Some of the soft goods are screen printed. I sacrificed a bunch of my favorite tees and a few pairs of underwear to the cause. I put a ton of blood, sweat, tears and other fluids into this beast... I hope you guys dig it. Each figure comes with at least as many parts as comes with a complete Callgrim... sometimes more. Each figure also comes with a hand painted card.

So here's the deal- This week, Friday July 8th at 9:00pm EDT... Callgrim Custom Corps 1.

It's been a long time threatened- I know I've been rambling on about this Callgrim Custom Corps to a bunch of cats for some time now. It is finally almost probably ready... just a few more tweaks here and there. I loaded this thing with a ton of references to many of my favorite things. I hope this will be well received.

Thank you to everyone who has posted positive feedback here on the blog. You guys really are fueling me in the home stretch... even the negative comments fire me up and drive me to do better and try to push things further... (after I come out of a homicidal furniture smashing tear filled rage...) Overall the response is inspiring. I am very grateful to have been invited to put something together for Mark Nagata's Alien Argus Custom Show. Thanks guys!

I had to play with Alien Argus for a bit before I chopped into him... What an awesome figure! I knew I wanted to do another rider and mount again from the start... but where to begin? This was a weird one. So many textures! Suddenly it made sense- Meat Bike.

Argrim is a Flesh Master. No- not a porn star... He can control meat and flesh of all kinds. He can be healer or destroyer. Argrim is often hired by criminal denizens of the underworld to heal the grievous wounds that are not uncommon in that line of work. The wealthy celebrities of Metran are also known to contact him to perform complex vanity flesh manipulations and breast augmentations.

Argrim has a deadly cutthroat reputation like most freelancers in his circle. Few know of Argrim's true intentions and motives. He donates all of his earnings to hospitals and places of healing. He secretly visits battlefields and war torn communities to use his gifts on the wounded, helpless, broken and needy. He is really a nice guy at heart.

The Meat Bike is an extension of Argrim. It has a pulse.

As usual, I am late with this custom. Like a jerk, I missed the opening. I bit off more than I could chew last month. Special thanks go out to Aaron for bearing with me. Check out the show! Sincere thanks to everyone that helped make the first Callgrim launch of the year a huge success! Thank you to all of the Callgrim fans that allow for this project to continue! Special thanks to Marcus for braving the elements to hole up in my attic for days at a time. Holidays, sickness and blizzards did not deter him from putting this launch together. We worked many long nights with only Nick's and chicken pot pie to sustain us. Extra special thanks to Matt for pulling off multiple photo shoots while gimped out and sick. 2011 is looking good for Callgrim- Matt, Marcus and I have a ton of new ideas and cool things in the works. After the first launch we will be working on an online comic (working title "The Beginning of the End"), CCC1 and new animation.

Deep Space Caliber Dome Norisar Command

Callgrim and his commandos board the mysterious vessel, slipping through the giant gash that has crippled its main Phase Drivers.
After making quick work of the Lorcassic Gendrone defense forces, they quickly realize that this is no ordinary Buildship, appearing more vast inside than would seem possible. Callgrim is unsettled by what he witnesses and vows to put an end to it.
"Let's have a look around. We'll get to the bottom of this soon enough..."

Norisar Ambush

The deep space Caliber Domes of the Norisar Command report that a Lorcassic Buildship has been spotted inside the Norisar Belt.
Apart from the occasional space pirate, smuggler or lost pilot- the Norisar Belt sees very little spacefaring traffic. A Buildship in this sector is a long way from home, and it does not seem lost- its presence must be intentional.
This news piques Callgrim's interest... a Buildship so close to Planet Blattaria cannot be ignored.
Is it the Lorcassic Guard? This wouldn't be the first time that the Guard had caused Callgrim grief. They almost found the location of a WARP mine once before, resulting in the Lorcos Rebellion. No, this is something different- something much bigger.
In response, Callgrim assembles a small hit and run ambush team to investigate. The Skullface has his suspicions, and one way or another he will find out what is going on... and deal with it accordingly.

2010 was a crazy ride and a huge success for Callgrim! I want to again thank everyone that made this year great- the Glyos community has some truly amazing and rabidly dedicated fans. Mega Muffin

After a laborious work week (and a few days) in China- we skipped over to Japan for a little R&R. Our hotel was right next to a 24 hour McD's. We loaded up on Australian beef burgers and Mega Muffins daily. Our main man Don (Datadub) was our guide through the back allies and subway labyrinths of Tokyo. We went on a toy binge to near overload for a few days straight. It was glorious.

As a special surprise- Don arranged a joint toy romp with Yasuhiro Naito. He is the man behind Trigun, Assemble Borg and Gungrave. Naito was kind enough to let us check out his studio. He is into the same stuff we are! It was like looking at my own book, comic and toy collection scattered about someone else's studio workspace. This guy is an amazing comic artist. We got to check out some of his work in progress. After a bit of gawking- he took us to a Japanese style egg pizza place where we ate our fill of grub that included some sort of crazy octopus egg pizza.

Superfest was wicked awesome. We saw all of our pals and brothers and sisters in arms. I was extra excited to see Ayako (Uamou) and Kiuni (Cord Viper). Many ideas were exchanged and potential collabs were planned. I love these guys.

We had a great time with Samurai Master Mori drawing, sketching and hashing out ideas at a cozy meat on a stick place. It was very exciting to see Mori at work. Magic was happening before our very eyes! I also experienced the spiciest chicken ever- even the food baby took a tiny taste to prove his manliness.

"I live with risk every day." That's what Mori said about what he does. He is hard core. He is hyper dedicated to his work. Mori is also a super generous and kind hearted guy. He works around the clock like Matt and I. I am forever grateful for his creating the vinyl Callgrim. I can't thank him enough.

Our trip to China this year was crazy good and super informative. Paul is a gracious host and a true friend. We had a great time at work and play. We worked hard and rewarded ourselves with the delicious local cuisine. I just can't get over how great the food is over there! I tried tons of new things (Matt ate mostly plain white rice because he is a food baby).

We spent a great deal of our time in China hanging and working with the folks at Glyos Command. The crew there is crazy talented! It is a small intimate and dedicated group. One of the painters can rock five brushes at a time! We were able to thank each artist personally for putting our toys together. I was able to check in on the progress with the next giant Callgrim launch and see some sneak peeks of some of our dearest friends latest projects. Everything this team does is top quality!

The highlight of the trip to China for both Matt and I for sure, was sitting down to a Glyos Family dinner with the crew to share in the feast that the main man (Lobot) Keen prepared for all of us. That guy is a master chef!

The trip was very productive. New projects were discussed and plans set in motion. We learned a ton (Matt learned maybe a little too much... he witnessed that I do indeed shit naked whenever possible or practical).

It's great to be home. Asia was awesome. I will post a full report when I get back from the NY con.

Normally we hang with Boris at the Rocket North booth. We were getting too many stray beard hairs on his stuff so this year Matt and I will be in the Cultyard at booth 2780. Boris will be in the small press area at booth #652. There will be a ton of things going on at both booths.

The first Callgrim art book is here! It is a 5x7 collection of the insert card art. The book includes all of the insert card paintings to date and a few other pieces. For this first batch of books, I will do an original sketch on the back page of each book. They will cost $15. I also found a small stack of Gear's Edge comics kicking around, available now for $10. SDCC was a blast this year. Matt again generously shared the booth with super talented artists from around the world. Dark Santa makes it happen. Marc and Megan held the fort. We enjoyed checking out tons of toys and art. We met a whole bunch of cool people and ate a mountain of fish tacos and bacon double cheeseburgers. Fig Lab's Global Figure Symposium Crossover was a huge success. There were new pairings of artist crossovers every couple of hours. There was so much to see and take in! The collab with Ayako and I was great- beauty and the beast. We have a few projects lined up. Vectar showed up and nearly got us all thrown out of the place. He took over the booth and hustled a bunch of exclusives including the Delic 'Grimsuck figures. (Onell vs Suckadelic vs Rawshark) I had a blast hanging with everyone. Some really great people are into this stuff. The best part of the con for me by far was when Mori (Real x Head) unleashed the (sort of surprise) Callgrim vinyl big boy... It truly brought a tear to my eye. Mori is the master. He is a Samurai.
